With lively and record-breaking participation of our customers, the interest in news and further development of KSC CORE in the field of IP technology was very high.

In addition to the bouquet technology, the new features, such as control of AMWA NMOS routers and NewTek NDI routers, as well as EVS IPD-VIA integration, remote control via Ember+ and the ongoing development on bouquet services and cloud services, were presented.
 
The first highlight was the guest presentation by Luis Baumgartner, Network Control Engineer & Broadcast Controller Expert at Swiss Radio and Television (SRF).
SRF was one of the first, as a so-called "early adaptor", to decide to integrate the SMPTE 2110 technical infrastructure and commissioned BFE for the administration, management and control of IP signals via Nevion VideoIPath.
For this purpose, the bouquet technology was developed within KSC CORE via GFX in cooperation between BFE and SRF's Metechno project team.
Luis Baumgartner gave a detailed overview of this IP-based installation of the KSC CORE with handling in the GFXUnit, which is used and operated in the new news and sports center of SRF in Zurich in the areas of MCR (Master Control Room), production and playout, among others.
A challenging project, not only because one had to deal with the technological change, but also the "old" SDI-based world still had to be considered and integrated in parts.
 
This contribution was followed by no less exciting detailed insights into the implementation and development of this bouquet technology of the KSC CORE by Jens Schoof, Head of Development at BFE.
Using an example, details on the creation and use of the bouquets, the workflows between KSC EventManager and KSC GFXUnit, as well as on cascading bouquets and transfer bouquets were explained in detail.
 
Jens Schoof also gave an overview and outlook on further innovations and future developments of KSC CORE.
 
All presentations were followed with interest by the audience. Various insights into the future-oriented further development of KSC CORE could be gained.
