BFE implements AV Media Technology for the Emergency Response Centre in Frankfurt

BFE equips the emergency response centre (BKRZ) in Frankfurt with audiovisual media technology.

The central control centre in Frankfurt is the largest integrated control centre in Hesse. From there, all fire brigade, rescue and patient transport operations in the Frankfurt city area are coordinated.

As part of extensive conversion work, BFE is renewing the large-screen displays and the visualisation network in the central control centre, the special situation room and the staff room. Almost seamless Barco LCD video walls will be integrated as large-screen displays - two with a size of approx. 5 x 2 metres each and a native resolution of 7,680 x 3,240 as well as an LCD video wall with a size of approx. 7 x 2 metres and a native resolution of 11,520 x 3,240. The large-screen displays will be installed on a BFE stand construction. The control and administration of the multimedia contents on the video walls is done by a CMS software from Barco. In addition, AMX media and room control is integrated. A video management system from Reach will be used to record and play back the Panasonic cameras installed in the staff room and special situation room and the ceiling microphone arrays from Shure. With this system, mp4 video files can be generated and live feeds via RTSP/RTMP streaming to the visualisation system can be made. The project also uses switches from Cisco and a BIAMP Tesira audio server with connection to a video conferencing system. The audio server supports the construction of a Dante network, via which the available audio signals are distributed digitally and with low latency over a network and are transmitted to rooms or made available to the video conferencing system and for recording. Several ultra-short distance projectors and a PA system are provided in a mobile flight case as an emergency system. Following the project BFE takes over the support of the system installation.

"Having successfully completed the first control centre project in 2015, we are proud to be a leading provider in this important market segment today. We are therefore delighted to be able to support the BKRZ in renewing its integrated control centre," reports Markus Greiter, Managing Director of BFE.
