University of Applied Sciences Südwestfalen relies on BFE for modernization of media technology

The project comprises the media technology conversion of a total of 50 rooms at the University of Applied Sciences Südwestfalen at the locations Iserlohn, Meschede and Soest.

The necessary modernization of the electrical installation is also the responsibility of BFE. The core of the technical concept is a central monitoring system that spans all rooms and locations. The control and the signal distribution in the individual rooms are implemented by BFE by using AVC systems from Crestron. Great importance is attached to intuitive user interfaces, which guarantee a smooth use of the rooms by the lecturers. Document cameras with recordable base plate from Wolfvision enable the multimedia presentation of objects as well as the recording and playback of audio/video content from various sources. Like the document cameras, the media control system is integrated into the lecturer's desks, which are designed according to the design specifications of the University of Applied Sciences and are manufactured in-house by BFE. The media technology concept is completed with powerful Full-HD projectors from Panasonic and high-quality frameless projection screens from Atrium, which guarantee professional projection due to their hot-spot freedom and color neutrality.

"Especially in such challenging times, we are very pleased to be able to drive digitization at universities and to support students and lecturers with our innovative system solutions," says Markus Greiter, Managing Director at BFE.

The University of Applied Sciences Südwestfalen, based in Iserlohn and with further locations in Hagen, Meschede and Soest, as well as Lüdenscheid, is a university with a strong focus on engineering, information technology, business and agriculture. With over 12,000 students in the winter semester 2019/2020, it is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in Germany.
