ProSiebenSat.1: New IP-based news studio
Innovative technologies and flexible workspaces ensure future-proof news production.
ProSiebenSat.1's new 220 square meter news studio was successfully put into operation - on September 30, 2024, the first live broadcast of the news program “:newstime” took place.
BFE Studio und Medien Systeme GmbH implemented the entire technical infrastructure and integrated an IP-based production environment in accordance with the ST 2110 standard. This modern solution makes it possible to flexibly meet both current and future news production requirements. In addition, a centrally controlled remote studio in Berlin was integrated, which is used for political reporting.
The set design features a 70 square metre curved LED wall and three movable LED walls that enable dynamic visualization of the content. This technology creates an immersive viewer experience and sets new standards in news production.
In addition to the technical infrastructure, BFE supplied tailor-made broadcast furniture for the control room and playout center. The furniture was adapted to the specific requirements of ProSiebenSat.1 to ensure ergonomic comfort and efficient use of the production environment.
After intensive training of the editorial and technical teams, live operation has started successfully. The new IP-based platform not only offers flexibility and scalability, but also seamless integration of the LED walls to display real-time content.
Thanks to the successful implementation of this project, ProSiebenSat.1 is now ideally equipped to meet the requirements of modern news production.
