Deutschlandradio broadcasts three nationwide, commercial-free radio stations from Cologne and Berlin. Deutschlandfunk, Deutschlandradio Kultur, and DRadio Wissen, a digital station available via cable, DAB+, satellite, and Internet. The rebuilding work of the production floor in the FES building was also to include technical equipment and a studio infrastructure fitted to the current standards for average and high-quality production facilities.
Task:
BFE was tasked with the conceptual planning and implementation of the complete studio equipment of the production floor in FES8. The project included equipping two studio units for average radio production and a high-quality studio with a sound editing room.
Solution:
The conceptual planning for the interfaces and infrastructure measures included the latest innovative technology. All room areas, furniture systems, wall attachments, ceiling traverses, etc., as well as the retained interfaces were fitted with structured CAT cabling.
The studios were completely fitted with all the necessary technical systems and studio furniture. All provided equipment was integrated and fully commissioned with accompanying documentation. Digital mixing desks and peripherals were also installed, and multiple DAW systems were integrated.
All mechanical and electronic assemblies, as well as furniture and frames were designed, implemented, and installed by BFE.
