CITY
Frankfurt am Main, Germany
Goethe University Frankfurt is setting new standards in digital teaching and hybrid event organisation. Together with BFE, the media technology on the Westend campus was comprehensively modernised - from conference rooms and seminar rooms to the prestigious Senate Hall. Intuitive control, seamless AV integration and customised solutions make this project an example of future-proof system integration.
Task:
Goethe University Frankfurt is one of the largest universities in Germany with around 50,000 students and 5,000 employees. The aim of the project was to refurbish the media technology in the PEG and PA buildings on the Westend campus.
The focus was on
64 fully networked rooms for hybrid teaching, meetings and events.
The expansion of the Senate Hall as a central event space.
An intuitive, future-proof solution that is easy to use and supports teaching and event operations.
Despite the large scope of the project, implementation had to be completed in just five weeks without disrupting academic operations.
Solution:
BFE was responsible for the complete integration of the media technology - from M+W planning to installation and commissioning.
Modern seminar and meeting rooms: HDMI and USB-C interfaces enable simple presentations, while PTZ cameras and ceiling microphones support hybrid working and video conferencing.
The Senate Room: A high-resolution LED wall, sound technology and PTZ cameras create the ideal infrastructure for events and web conferences.
Centralised control: All rooms are operated centrally via 10-inch touch panels - intuitively and without any technical effort.
Customised media furniture: The customised Senate table from BFE integrates the AV technology unobtrusively and functionally.
The use of AV-over-IP signal routing and a Dante audio network ensures reliable and latency-free media transmission.
Highlights:
Complete modernisation of 64 rooms for flexible teaching and meeting formats.
LED wall in the Senate Hall for high-resolution image reproduction.
Intuitive operation thanks to centralised control via touch panels.
Flexible connectivity for presentations and media broadcasts.
Completed on time in just five weeks.
