RWTH Teaching Hospital gets Media & IP Streaming Technology by BFE

RWTH Aachen

BFE is implementing the new media technology concept for the teaching hospital RWTH Aachen, Germany. With over 6.000 employees working in 34 clinics and 27 institutes, it is one of the largest in Europe. Through the new building for its biomedical science department and the technical upgrade involved, the university behind the teaching hospital is further strengthening its medical faculty.

BFE is integrating technical equipment in 43 rooms for classes, seminars, scientific observation and simulation. A distinctive feature is the ability to broadcast video content between rooms with H.264 streaming and to record and analyze it through an intelligent recording and debriefing system. Thus, lecturers are enabled to not only control the media technology systems in any room via an intuitive interface, but to easily set up lectures and experiments across multiple rooms.

In addition, all equipment will be linked to the central room monitoring software for easy supervision of all systems.

After a short planning phase, the project is currently under way and will be completed until the end of summer.
